Haringey publishes its first annual carbon report

19 January 2011: Building on the target adopted by Haringey in 2009 to reduce carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2020 (on a 2005 baseline), the borough has now produced a Carbon Report, “the first of its kind to be produced by a local authority”. The report outlines the scale of carbon emissions in the borough and some of the activities the borough will be leading on to reduce emissions. Southwark pulls the plug on Elephant & Castle green energy project

Brent School Energy Project

15 January 2011: Brent Council is funding a pilot Whole School Approach energy saving project in Brent. The Whole School Approach is an educational programme aimed at involving the whole school community including pupils, teachers, site managers, bursars and head teachers to help reduce the carbon footprint of a school.
